Am I eligible to take a career break?
Answer
The University will consider all career break applications from all University employees who have a minimum of 26 weeks continuous service at the start of the proposed career break unless:

The proposed period of the career break exceeds the duration of the existing contract of employment;

The terms and conditions of an individual’s right to work in the UK do not allow a career break.
In exceptional circumstances, applications may be considered from employees who have less than 26 weeks service. This would be reviewed on a case by case basis.
