What is compassionate leave?

Answer

Compassionate leave entitles you to a set period of leave agreed with your Head of Department (or designates) during periods of domestic difficulty.

Each situation is considered on its individual merits, however, compassionate leave is granted in a fair and equitable manner across the university following guidelines which apply to all employees.

It's recommended to contact your line manager when compassionate leave is needed, so that they can offer support where necessary.
